Hollywood Hoax

Everyone has been talking about the Machiavelli Hangman (http://www.hangmanmovie.com) but no one seems to have the slightest clue about its release date or when or where or why or how? The internet and newspapers are plastered with stories revolving around this great film and how it going to revolutionize the face of Hollywood because it is so unconventional.

There is an element about this whole Machiavelli Hangman project that reminds me so much of the Blair Witch Project. No one really knew why they went to see it or why they were talking about it, they just did. The ingenious thing about Blair Witch was how producers presented it to the public as a documentary and not a fictional piece. Audiences therefore were drawn to the theatres to see what all the buzz was about.

Of course, some were disappointed and others got what they were expecting. A low-budget, low-production value film with some comedic moments.

The main curiosity revolved around the filmmakers and how they were lost in the woods and especially around the actual Blair Witch. As a dedicated moviegoer, I did go see the Blair Witch Project and I completely understand why it drew such a high number of people to the box office.

What I don't understand is what the Machiavelli Hangman offers that creates such an amazing buzz in the industry? It seems to be that the buzz on this movie is the buzz itself, but what on God's green earth is the buzz? So they say many executives and professionals call it the next Pulp Fiction and how it's going to blow the Sixth Sense out of the water. Who are these executives? They could be Ticky and Mickey, my next door neighbor's

obnoxious kids, sitting in the garage making up these stories.

So I researched Machiavelli Hangman and other than the hundreds and thousands of message boards raving about the film and countless articles on the crew, I did not find an inkling of what this movie was about and why it is so great. Is the Machiavelli Hangman a big joke that the "industry professionals" have created to experiment on the poor cinema-loving citizens of America? Is this their way to calibrate the amount of following a certain type of buzz can create?

Some rumors say that Machiavelli Hangman is a mixture of Pulp Fiction and Lord of the Rings. Could they have picked two films that are more opposite? Some rumors circulated that QT wrote Machiavelli Hangman under a pseudonym because he wanted to cast a star who would not be in the film otherwise. Some people said that the filmmaker is so obsessive compulsive that he would not start filming until there were three mega-stars attached to the film. All in all, Machiavelli Hangman is still a mystery and while the buzz circulates more, the mystery seems to be getting bigger. Everyone seems to know something about it, but no one knows the fundamentals. Everyone talks about it like it's oh so amazing, but they have nothing to base their words on. I will admit, I'm one of them and it's driving me crazy!
